Stephanie Steinberg is a metro Detroit native and incoming managing editor of Neighborhood SEEN, a monthly lifestyle magazine based in metro Detroit.
Formerly, she was a features reporter at The Detroit News, where she covered the revitalization of Detroit. She also worked as the assistant editor of the health and money sections at U.S. News & World Report in Washington D.C., where she edited and reported on health and wellness, personal finance, careers, retirement, investing and real estate. She helped produce the annual Best Diets and Best Jobs rankings.
Her work has been published in newspapers, including The New York Times, The Boston Globe, USA Today, The Oakland Press and The Detroit Jewish News and The Washington City Paper. It has also been featured on CNN.com, The Huffington Post, Business Insider, Yahoo!, MSN and WTOP.com.
Stephanie studied communications and medical anthropology at the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor. She spent four years as a reporter and editor for The Michigan Daily, the University's largest student-run newspaper, and was editor-in-chief in 2011. During her term, she led the production of the Daily's first book Michigan Football: A History of the Nation's Winningest Program.
Her second book, In the Name of Editorial Freedom: 125 Years at The Michigan Daily, was released in September 2015.
